Frustrations.
Recently it has come to my attention that I am an idiot. After years of denial, I think Cory may gave been correct (for once) all this time.
In my travels I have been impressed at my packing abilities, often gloating ¨look how small I´ve gotten my bag today!¨ It is only smaller because there is less stuff in it. Most recently lost, my beloved helly hasen thermal top and MEC longjohns. Heartbreaking.
So no, I am not becoming a more efficent packer, nor is my bag lighter because I have gotten stronger. The size and weight of my bag is (as expected) proportional to the number of items left out of my bag.
MONTEVERDE. Tourist haven, and rightfully so I guess. I do sometimes enjoy tourist towns as it increases the chances (and prices) of people speaking English, and I am no longer a useless twat.
Monteverde runs a rep of having an amazing cloud forest reserve. It is sweet, and also I enjoy photos of lush vegetation and foliage.
The reserve is 17 dollars to get in, STEEP. However, there has been an upside to me losing items frequently. During my last month of undergrad I lost my student card, and at the time I was P-Oed I had to purchase a new card before the start of exams. I now have a student card that is valid until 2015 and I am enjoying some nice student discounts. Thanks undergrad, how useful you have become.
From the reserve, we walked back into town, and happened upon a sloth sanctuary. I have no idea why these creatures amuse me so much, but they do. Since I was not accompanied by my sloth enthusiast friend, I opted out of the sloth tour. However, their logo is all I needed to make my day.
Continuing on our walk we came to the Monteverde Cheese Factory.
Cheese factories round out my top three edible tours, alongside chocolate factories and craft breweries. Well, we skipped the tour and headed straight to the cheese store. That is the best part of the tour anyways...besides free samples....
We have done some hikes here as well. Our first one we started on a clear day, and it was cloudy by the time we got to the top (only 45 minutes later). We took some jump photos to pass the time in hopes the clouds would roll out just as fast as they rolled in. Most people tend to show their epically timed jump shot - I find this one more amusing.
Shock Absorption!
We walked back down our short climb, to have clear skies again, so we found a happy hour and enjoyed some imperial beer while the sun set.
Artistic, non?
Also, this is a cool Gazebo.
The End.
More pictures of you and Nellie! Hilarious jump shot. I miss you Cher.
ReplyDeleteAlso, about your jump shot...that's really big leaf.
