The start...

Since I have been slacking on the blog front, I thought I would relay my trip so far in multiple posts, writing out only what I can muster up at the time. Currently Diana and I are in THE YUKON! Whitehorse specifically, but I will get to that in maybe about 4 or 5 most posts. ARE YOU EXCITED?  I am.

We took off May 11th, from Barrie, Ontario from the Winegardner residence. Diana is wearing her "Fun Shirt" and would be doing so for about the next week. She is embarressing.

Despite gas taking its fair share of coin from our ziplock bag bank, we were all anxious to get going. Amanda has recently taken up canoe poling, which requires a 13ft long banister turned canoe pole, and so her sapphire blue pontiac looks like it is taking part in a modern day joust tournament.

It makes for an easy find in the parking lot.

The first night we stayed in White River since we missed the campground in Wawa, there is no sense turning back. The fine folks at the gas station told us to pitch a tent in the park behind the winnie the pooh statue and so we did. It felt great to be squished inside a tent again! Well, until someone kids drove by and said "Hello!...I bet they think we are rapists" .  No we don't...but thank you for that thought as we drift off to sleep.

Next day we made it to Tbay without much trouble, Its hard to believe that snow was still surrounding parts of the Lake Superior.

However, this individual was doing their part to assist with snow removal.

Tbay was nice because we had an awesome hostess in the form of Katie Fisher! She is awesome, and managed to swindle matteress from people so we each had a bed.

From here on we drove through to the peg, just as they breached the floodway south of Portage Le Prarie. However we didn't have to drive through it until we hit Saskatchewan on our way north to Prince Albert.

Slow and steady folks. I was driving at this point and the man who stopped us before we drove across the highway lake kindly stated "Older ladies with smallers cars have made it through"

Thanks for the vote of confidence good sir.

Well, my free library time is up, and that means SASKATCHEWAN adventures will be up next. Turns out there is more than wheat and barely to see in this province, and I actually kind of like it there.

Hope the hot weather is being enjoyed. I am happy as a clam to be out of that Toronto smog.

Later Hoseheads!
